Lake Hévíz – unique in the world

Lake Hévíz is the world’s largest biologically active thermal lake, perfect for relaxation in every season. The lake is fed by a 38-meter-deep spring, rich in sulfur, calcium and magnesium. The special water is good for your health, especially for joint and rheumatic problems.

Cypress Forest

The cypress trees in Hévíz are one of the town’s most unique sights. These special trees from North America turn a stunning orange-bronze in autumn. In winter they shed their leaves, in spring they turn green again – nature shows a new face each season.

The trees are not only beautiful but also protect the lake from wind and temperature changes. The forest is perfect for walks – with fresh air and peaceful surroundings. With luck, you may spot squirrels or rare birds. Pleasant walking trails start near Hotel Erzsébet and can be enjoyed all year.
